Courtesy to UNMISS The 160-kilometre journey from the capital of South Sudan to the town of Yei in the south-west of the country should take no more than a couple of hours. But war and weather have damaged the main route from Juba so badly that it has been largely impassable for months. It is not just the roads that have been washed away in the torrential downpours during the rainy season, but also important infrastructure making it impossible for motorists, including traders, to travel safely. Many of those attempting the journey have ended up stranded for days at a time, creating further blockages with their vehicles and putting their lives at risk with a spate of armed robberies along the road in recent months. One teacher trying to return to Yei from a Ugandan refugee camp where...
Just raw footage of driving through Juba South Sudan in March 07
Timeout on covers. This video is just for fun. Starring Samwer Awtder. I've lowered the quality for a small file size since our internet connection was slow. This is one of the visits in Juba, South Sudan. It's a good place having a tropical weather same like the Philippines. Juba is now on their one year after the separation of Sudan.
Roughly the size of France, the landlocked country of South Sudan only has about 4,000 km of all weather roads which are classified as international and interstate roads. Watch this video to find out more about South Sudan's development needs, including building much needed roads and infrastructure.

South Sudan says disagreements over the power-sharing deal between rival parties and with the mediation team remain the biggest obstacle to re-vitalizing the 2015 peace agreement. Mediators from regional body IGAD are proposing four vice presidents. However, Juba says it has another proposal which could bring peace to the country even sooner. CGTN's Patrick Oyet reports. A kabila group dancing a traditional dance.
Unimaginable that a 200km long drive would take an astonishing 10 hours. But that is how long it took us, a team of peacekeepers working with the United Nations Mission in South Sudan to reach Tali from the capital Juba. The long and narrow roads devastated by war and weather, are the main supply route connecting the capital with other parts of the country. As trucks and traders navigate their way to deliver commerce, these roads are an economic lifeline for the people of South Sudan. After passing through pockets of villages, changing vegetation and stretches of road with no sign of human life, our team made up of blue helmets and civilian staff, finally reach the remote village. We have travelled to Tali to support the Inter-state pre-migration conference organised by the Civil Aff...
This clip from the 1943 Movie "Stormy Weather" is rarely seen online, but I always think that's a very important clip. In the scene, dancer's style is hard to define, if that's possible, I wish someone out there could tell me what specific dance type is this, right now, I can only calling the style "Juba Dance", 'cause that's when before all the dance style came out from a mixture dance, all different cultural background got involved to the development of American Dance form.
In the South Sudanese capital Juba and other towns across the country, the price of essential items has rocketed as a direct consequence of almost uninterrupted civil war since December 2013 with inflation reaching record levels.

While some places are on this list due to armed conflicts and violence, other places are on the list thanks to physical or biological calamities. Regardless of the reasons, the one thing all of these places have in common is that most western governments do not advise travel to them unless it is absolutely necessary. These are the 25 most dangerous places to visit as a tourist. Also, before we continue, just remember, being on this list doesn't necessarily mean the entire country is bad to visit (although it can). Just make sure to check on regional travel warnings. Read the entire issue devoted to South Sudan: http://www.vice.com/read/saving-south-sudan Late last year, South Sudan's president, Salva Kiir, accused his former vice president, Riek Machar, of attempting a coup d'état amid accusations of rampant corruption within the government. Infighting immediately broke out within the presidential guard, sparking what has now become a brutal tribal and civil war that has pitted Machar's ethnic Nuer loyalists against the majority Dinka, who have sided with Kiir. Machar narrowly escaped assassination, fleeing to the deep bush as Kiir's troops razed his home and killed his bodyguards. And now the world's newest sovereign nation is in imminent danger of becoming a failed state. In February, journalists and filmmakers Robert Young Pelton and Tim Freccia ...

Khartoum is the capital and second largest city of Sudan and Khartoum state. It is located at the confluence of the White Nile, flowing north from Lake Victoria, and the Blue Nile, flowing west from Ethiopia. The location where the two Niles meet is known as "al-Mogran" meaning the confluence. The main Nile continues to flow north towards Egypt and the Mediterranean Sea. Divided by the Niles, Khartoum is a tripartite metropolis with an estimated overall population of over five million people, consisting of Khartoum proper, and linked by bridges to Khartoum North and Omdurman to the west.
